AmberFic Mailinglist

As with most things, a few mailinglists for the Amber-addict exist. I personally don't care for the mailinglists concerned with roleplaying in Amber campaigns.

However these campains can make for excellent reading material. If you're still interested in reading more after the initial books, perhaps you should subscribe to the AmberFic mailinglist, dedicated to Amber Fiction. The AmberFic mailinglist is a quiet one, but I can recommend it if you're into Amber.

To add yourself to the mailing list, send mail to: amberfic-request@logrus.org with the following in the body of your email message (leave the header blank!):

subscribe

To remove yourself from the mailing list, send mail to: amberfic-request@logrus.org with the following in the body of your email message (leave the header blank!):

unsubscribe

In both of the above cases, the server will automatically pick up your e-mail adress, and add or remove you as a member of the list.

If you know that your e-mail address is going away, please unsubscribe in a timely fashion. Dead addresses cause messages to bounce to the Amberfic-owner, filling his mailbox with junk.

All mail to the list itself should go to: amberfic@logrus.org

There is no digest for this list.

If you wish to receive personal replies to your messages, please "sign" your messages with your name and e-mail address. Several list members have mailers that strip off the "useful" headers, and if you don't sign your messages then they won't know who wrote them.

The list is not moderated, which means that your messages go to directly list without being filtered. However, this means that I and the other list members expect polite, considerate, and on-topic posts. Off-topic posts, no matter how "important" they may seem (computer virus warnings, for example), do not belong on this list. Those who violate these basic rules will be warned, and those who continue to violate these rules after having been warned, will be removed from the list.

If you are going to be posting a long diary or log, please post it in small portions, using numbers to designate which part you are sending. In addition, binaries and other non-text formats such as attachments and HTML are not allowed on the list. Many people will not and cannot read e-mail messages with HTML.

Additional information concerning netiquette is available at Lisa's Amber page:

If there are any problems with the list, just send mail to amberfic-owner@logrus.org

For help, send e-mail to amberfic-request@logrus.org with the word help in the body of the

message. The Internet willing, you'll receive a quick response with descriptions of various commands.

If you have problems with majordomo or need further assistance, send e-mail to amberfic-owner@logrus.org to talk to a real person.

As with most mailinglists, everything posted to the list must be kept somewhere. A certain Kevin Bremer has offered to keep the AmberFic records on an FTP-site, where they are available for download. I must however add, that I haven't seen much change in this list during the last period of time. So if you still are interested to go there, just click here.

If you're into the Amber Diceless Roleplaying Game, or any campain running on the internet, the below information might be interesting for you.

I must warn however that the below described list is a very busy one, so you might receive several e-mails a day...
